MARTINIQUE France of the Caribbean

After an 8-hour journey from France, and landing at Lamentin (a small airport), you will find yourself, if by magic, in a different. But, still a very pleasant and familiar place. Although Martinique is in the middle of the Caribbean, it is still part of Europe. Even in the evenings, you will feel warm air and a humid climate. Martinique is famous for delicious rum and exotic-looking local inhabitants.

The island is of volcanic origin. The climate is humid and hot. The whole island is covered in fertile and volcanic soil. The islands rainforest has been mainly cut down. St. Lucia has the shape of a drop, its length is 44 km and its width is 23 km. The capital of the island, Castries, is a trade center and is a mainly “never-sleeping” harbour.

Dominica is an island country situated in the Caribbean between two French islands. In the north there is Guadeloupe and in the south lies Martinique. The surface of the island is very mountainous and thickly forested. On the island, there are more than 160 species of birds, among which the parrot called “Sisserou” growing up to 50 centimeters; it is the “king” of all the birds.

Saint Vincent lies symmetrically between St. Lucia Island and the Grenadines. St. Vincent is part of the State of St. Vincent. The former inhabitants called the island Hairoun, which means“a sacred country.” Unlike the Grenadines, it comprises 30 islands with only 12 that are inhabited. They are the most popular tourist targets of all the Caribbean cruises.
